Top 2026 RB Javian Osborne Growing Relationship with Notre Dame's Deland McCullough
Notre Dame running backs coach Deland McCullough made a big offer in Texas on Pot of Day to 2026 Forney star Javian Osborne.
The four-star prospect ran for 2,231 yards and 41 touchdowns as a sophomore, so seeing his offer list approaching 30 schools before his junior season begins is hardly shocking.
Last week, McCullough made the trip to Forney to stop by the school and make his presence felt, which meant a great deal to the 5-foot-10- 190-pounder.
“It definitely means a lot,” Osborne said. “It shows his interest in me. He showed I’m a top priority and I mean a lot to him. He wants to get me up to Notre Dame. It just meant a lot.”
The relationship between Osborne and Notre Dame is still growing, but with each conversations, McCullough is making more and more of an impression.
“It’s developing really well,” explained Osborne. “We’re starting to develop trust. He told me that I’m No. 1 on this board. Anytime a coach tells you that you’re No. 1 on his board, you know there aren’t being games played. He’s being real. It’s serious.”
And yes, Osborne has heard he’s No. 1 on the board for a lot of programs as of late. Yet, Osborne has also started to realize some coaches will say it, but not mean it.
“It all comes down to asking questions,” Osborne stated. “When I ask questions, are they answering it or going around the question? That’s when you know if they’re lying or being truthful with you.”
As for a visit to Notre Dame, Osborne is trying to figure out a date to make his first trip to South Bend.
“I’m still trying to maneuver everything,” Osborne said. “I think the summer might be the best and I think that’s when I’m going to try to get up there.”
The Texas native also plans to get to three other programs this summer and one is somewhat close to Notre Dame.
“I know we’re trying to make it to Georgia on May 30th, said Osborne. “Tennessee and Wisconsin are visits I’m trying to make in June.”
