2026 WR Jaylen Pile Talks Notre Dame Offer & More
Jaylen Pile has come a long way since we interviewed him as a high school freshman at last year’s National Combine in San Antonio.
The 2026 Texas receiver is still just a sophomore, but he’s been piling up the scholarship offers since helping put his name on the map with his performance at the showcase event in the Alamodome.
Since then, Pile has landed more than a dozen top offers from schools like Virginia Tech, Penn State, Duke, Oregon, Tennessee, Auburn, Michigan and Wisconsin among others.
On St. Patrick’s Day, he added an offer from Notre Dame.
“I was like, 'Are you being serious?'” Pile said in response to the offer from the Irish. “Like I said, this is one of the schools that I was getting my first interview for, and it kind of really showed me what that recruiting process looked like and how it would be for my rest of my high school life.
“It was kind of just this surreal feeling. I still couldn't believe it was real. I was like, 'There's no way. Are you being serious?'”
The Parish Episcopal standout learned of the offer from new Irish receivers coach Mike Brown/
“I liked him a lot,” the 6-foot-1, 180-pounder said. “He's been developing some good wide receivers.”
Pile also liked what he saw from the Notre Dame receivers last year, especially fellow Texan Jaden Greathouse.
“I saw him play when he was a sophomore and he was tearing up my old school's defense as a sophomore,” Pile said of the former Austin Westlake star.
“He was going for like 300 yards. I was like, 'Gosh, that guy's special.' They really translated it at that college level.”
He’s made stops at Michigan, Syracuse, Texas and Texas A&M already this spring.
Pile said he “definitely” wants to set up a visit to South Bend, perhaps for a game in the fall.
