Notre Dame RHP David Lally Jr. Will Enter NCAA Transfer Portal
Notre Dame sophomore RHP David Lally Jr. announced he will enter the NCAA Transfer Portal when it officially opens for underclassmen next week.
The 6-foot-5, 215-pounder was one of Notre Dame’s prize signees in the 2022 signing class as Lally turned down the MLB Draft for South Bend.
As a freshman, Lally, who throws mid-90s with a four-pitch mix, made six starts and nine appearances for Notre Dame. He finished with an ERA of 5.29 in 17.0 IP and recorded 14 strikeouts.
In 2024, the Grand Blanc (Mich.) native made 13 appearances in a relief role and finished with an ERA of 9.22, which was inflated by two outings against Miami and North Carolina.
For his career, Lally pitched 30.2 innings for the Irish while giving up 24 runs, zero home runs and fanning 30 batters.
Lally will be the fourth Notre Dame player to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal since the season completed, as he’ll join graduate transfers Matt Bedford (RHP), Tony Lindwedel (catcher) and Ryan Lynch (LHP).
