2026 DL King Liggins Enjoys Irish Invasion Competition
2026 Brother Rice (Ill.) defensive lineman King Liggins made the quick trip to Notre Dame last weekend for Irish Invasion.
The 6-foot-4, 265-pounder was also at Kansas State earlier in the week, but Liggins was glad he trip to Notre Dame.
“It was a really good camp,” stated Liggins. “I had a really good time and learned a lot from Coach Wash (Al Washington).
“He really worked on my get off, getting that knee up and being explosive.”
Irish Invasion had some quality talent at camp in the trenches and Liggins embraced the competition as he viewed it as a measuring stick for him.
“It was really good competition,” explained Liggins. “It was the top guys in the Midwest. It makes me better and lets me see where I’m at for football season, so I liked that.”
Liggins also got to go against some massive offensive linemen on the day, which allowed him to get back in the flow as fall camp is just over a month away.
“When I get back to Illinois, there will be big kids just like that,” Liggins said. “It was good to go against guys like that before the high school season starts.”
The Illinois native also got to chop it up with 2025 Notre Dame commits Dom Hulak, Joseph Reiff and Chris Burgess. All four players are from Chicagoland and the older guys took Liggins under their wing.
“We were doing drills and I was trying to see where I was at,” Liggins stated. “They were really good. I can see why they are committed to Notre Dame. We were all cool and talking. I’m the young guy, so they were dapping me up and telling me to keep going.”
Liggins was at Ohio State earlier this week and will head to Wisconsin for camp in mid-June. He hopes to show much of the same at both camps as he did at Notre Dame.
“I just want to go there and show out,” said Liggins. “I want to show them what I’m about and hopefully take an offer home.”
