2026 OL Adam Guthrie Recaps Notre Dame Camp, Previews Summer Stops
2026 Miami Trace (Ohio) offensive lineman Adam Guthrie had been to Notre Dame previously, but last week, the 6-foot-7, 285-pounder made the trip to South Bend for camp.
The Ohio native arrived on campus a day early to see the sights around Notre Dame and speak with the coaching staff.
“We got to visit the campus and meet all the coaches again, which was a great time,” Guthrie said. “It’s an amazing time every time I come here.”
As for the camp, Guthrie wanted to make sure he had a strong showing as an offer from Notre Dame would mean a great deal to him.
“Last time I was here, it was a great time,” stated Guthrie. “I really like Coach (Marcus) Freeman a lot.
“I believe I’m one of the best players around and I think all the coaches saw that too. It was a really good time.”
Notre Dame had three commits opposite of the Miami Trace star, so Guthrie was also tested on the field, which is another reason he chose to camp in South Bend.
“Definitely the speed, Guthrie said of what stood out from Notre Dame’s commits. “I had to figure out how to adjust to that and get used to it.”
Offensive line coach Joe Rudolph also impressed Guthrie. The instruction was valuable to improve his game, but Guthrie also saw some of Rudolph’s personality come out during the day.
“I like his coaching style a lot,” explained Guthrie. “He gets along with his players and he’s a down-to-earth guy. I really like that coming from a small town.”
Notre Dame’s players didn’t hesitate to jump in and show the campers how to do drills correctly. It was an underrated detail of the day as Guthrie saw much more than them trying to help.
“It’s fun seeing them interact with us,” stated Guthrie. “You can see how much they like Coach Rudolph.”
Guthrie does hold 30 offers at this point, so he won’t have an aggressive schedule moving forward.
On Wednesday, Ohio State hosted him for camp and then at the end of July, Guthrie will make a trip down to Clemson.
“It would be nice for a kid from the Midwest watching those teams,” said Guthrie of what earning an offer from Clemson, Notre Dame or Ohio State would mean. “I’ve watched Clemson vs. Ohio State and Notre Dame vs. USC.”
Offers: Appalachian State, Arkansas, Auburn, Bowling Green, Campbell, UCF, Cincinnati, Indiana, Kent State, Kentucky, Louisville, Marshall, Miami, Miami (OH), Missouri, NC State, Oregon, Penn State, Pitt, Purdue, South Florida, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Toledo, Virginia Tech and West Virginia
