Davion Dixon‍ returned to South Bend for his official visit this weekend and the 2025 Notre Dame defensive line commit was again blown away.

“It went amazing,” the Florida native told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “I loved it. Out of all my other visits, it's definitely the top one. Everything was on point. Nothing ruined the vibe or the mood.

“Everybody was happy, having a good time. I really enjoyed it, me and my family.”

Dixon enjoyed being brought into the family by Irish head coach Marcus Freeman and the rest of the staff.

“We went to Coach Free's house, had a good time there,” he said. “We went golfing. We spent time with the current players there. The photoshoot was pretty was funny.”

Dixon also enjoyed his meetings with defensive line coach Al Washington, who was challenging Dixon.

“Coach Wash was good,” he said. “He was getting on me, but that's tough love. That's every coach. He wants me to be a better player and a better person and I respect him for that.

“My other meetings were pretty good. I talked to Coach Freeman and the rest of the coaches. It was good.”

Dixon especially enjoyed the chance to visit with the other commits on campus as well as uncommitted targets Derek Meadows and Tanook Hines.

“We were all hanging out, seeing what our vibe is like,” said Dixon. “Meadows definitely, definitely hit it. We love him. We hope he commits here.

“Same for Tanook. He was cool too. He is from outside of Houston and that's where I'm from too. He was pretty cool. Those people are pretty cool.”

Dixon’s pitch to Meadows and Hines was relatively simple.

“I just ask them, 'What do you want to do in life?' Football is not forever. You've got to hang it up,’” Dixon explained. “And I say, 'With a Notre Dame degree, you can basically set your future up by just coming to the school.'

“I know a lot of schools can't do that. I just tell them that and I just let that sink in their head for a little bit and I guess they commit later on.”
