2026 TE Sam Hamilton Enjoys Another Notre Dame Experience
Sam Hamilton returned to South Bend earlier this month to compete at Notre Dame’s Irish Invasion.
“Everything went amazing,” the 2026 Ohio tight end said.
“We competed against some of the best competition in the country. I got better. I've got some things to improve on going home, and we'll be back soon.”
The Moeller High School had previously visited South Bend in March and plans to return.
“I'll be back,” he said. “I have not decided yet if I want to come back for another camp, but I will be back for a game in the fall.”
Hamilton was pleased with his performance.
“I feel like I set the tone for myself,” he said. “I showed them how physical I was going against linebackers, safeties, corners.
“There weren't many guys that wanted to go against our tight end group. They didn't want to compete with us.”
He also enjoyed catching passes from current Notre Dame quarterback commits Deuce Knight and Noah Grubbs.
“Those guys, they can throw,” said Hamilton. “They're good leaders on and off the field. I first got connected with Grubbs at Ohio State when he was there on a recruiting visit.
“Those guys, they're going to take the team to the next level.”
Hamilton got some good feedback from the Irish coaches.
“I talked to them about just staying faster and getting a lot stronger and staying in the weight room, getting my head down and just keep working, coming back and getting closer with Coach (Mike) Denbrock and Coach (Marcus) Freeman that will just keep me on their radar.”
Hamilton had a busy summer schedule that called for stops at Ohio State, Cincinnati, Michigan, Kentucky and Florida State.
His offer sheet currently includes Kentucky, Miami-Ohio, Kent State, Toledo and UMass.
He’s never been shy in saying how badly he wants an offer from the Irish.
