2026 LB Jaxon Pyatt Talks Notre Dame Camp, What's Next
Jaxon Pyatt made his way to South Bend for Irish Invasion earlier this month and the 2026 Colorado linebacker was happy with his performance.
“Everything went pretty well,” he said. Afterward. “40 felt good, 5/10/5, everything felt pretty smooth. Definitely felt like getting better throughout the camp. I definitely felt like the coaches were actually teaching you something, not just doing the basics.
“Each time I made it a tiny mistake, the coaches were right on it to critique it right away, which felt nice. If my foot wasn't in front of me right, they'd critique that, tell me each step, what to do, how to break down better, which I liked that a lot because it taught me a lot how to cover better.”
Irish linebackers coach Max Bullough and other staff members counseled the 6-foot-2, 215-pounder about trying to maintain control.
“Definitely super good people, super personable,” said Pyatt. “Not the too coachy type. They know how to get in your head about it and how to fix it.
Pyatt is nearing double-digit scholarship offers with a list that currently includes schools like Ole Miss, Boston College, Syracuse, Kansas State and others.
The Arvada West standout has now made three visits to South Bend, following a visit and a camp last year.
He’s hoping to return again.
“Most definitely,” he said. “Probably next year when they have another camp or possibly on a visit if I get invited.
He was impressed with what he saw on his most recent visit.
“The campus was super cool,” he said. “I got to touch the Play Like A Champion Today sign, which was definitely cool. Campus is super old school and it's kind of pretty, which I like.”
Overall, he likes everything Notre Dame is about.
“The history and the coaches just want to help you. They don't just look at you as another person on the team. They actually want to help you.”
