2027 TE Luke Brewer One To Watch After Camping At Notre Dame

Luke Brewer‍ is quickly landing on recruiting boards across the country and the 2027 Iowa tight end’s head coach isn’t surprised at all.

“Well, I think the first thing is just his natural size,” Norwalk High School head coach Paul Patterson says. “The fact that he's a '27 kid and he is 6-3, 220, makes him very attractive to everybody. I think that's number one. 

“Number two, as you start to get to know him, you realize that he's just a fantastic young man. He's coachable, he works hard, and he has got a great desire to be great, which then means he is constantly working on his craft.”

Brewer’s offer sheet currently includes Iowa, Iowa State, Georgia, Miami, Kansas State and Toledo.

He had a busy camp schedule earlier this month with stops at Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State and Notre Dame. 

Brewer has a connection to Notre Dame through current tight end and fellow Iowa native Eli Raridon.

“They've got a guy who helps do some track things with them,” Patterson explained. “Mike Cunningham is his name. Mike Cunningham is a family friend of the Brewers and he recently was teaching at Valley, which then gave in a little bit of a connection to Raridon. 

“He just developed a little bit of a bond there and that's essentially what got him to go to Notre Dame for the camp.”

Brewer was one of the standouts at Irish Invasion earlier this month and is definitely somebody worth Irish fans keeping an eye on in the early stages of the 2027 recruiting process.

College coaches like Brewer’s potential.

“We don't have some of these schools knocking on the door without them knowing who he is ahead of time,” Patterson said. “His film has been really good. 

“The Miami coach is the one who came in and just said from watching his highlights in Week 1 to Week 10, he got better. And he said, that's really exciting to see. That was part of the reason why they came in and did what they did.”
