Quinnipiac Grad Transfer OF Jared Zimbardo Commits to Notre Dame
Notre Dame baseball is back on the recruiting grind as Shawn Stiffler has secured a commitment from Quinnipiac graduate transfer Jared Zimbardo.
The 5-foot-11, 187-pounder outfielder was named second-team All-MAAC after a massive 2024 campaign. Zimbardo batted .353 in 50 starts while adding seven home runs, 16 doubles, 34 RBI and stole 26 bases.
It was the third consecutive season the New Jersey native tallied double-digit doubles and at least 50 hits.
In 2023, Zimbardo tallied 15 doubles, but added a career-high 12 home runs and 45 RBI.
Zimbardo will bring experience to the table as he’s played in 160 games (154 starts). Notre Dame is expected to return two key pieces to the outfield next season in DM Jefferson (95 games) and Brady Gumpf (92 games), who also have significant experience. Drayk Bowen is the only other returning player who has seen time in the outfield (1 game).
The Irish will also bring in one of the best outfield classes in program history as Jayce Lee, Jaden Knight and Brendan Tunink signed with Notre Dame.
Zimbardo’s former Quinnipiac teammate, Anthony Donofrio, transferred to North Carolina last season. Donofrio played in 60 games where he batted .325 with seven home runs, 45 RBI, 19 doubles and six triples for the Tar Heels in 2024.
