Notre Dame Remains In Pursuit Of 2026 LB Thomas Davis Jr.

July 10, 2024

After visiting Notre Dame back in April, Thomas Davis Jr.‍, said the Irish were among his favorites.

Not much has changed since for the 2026 North Carolina linebacker.

The Weddington High School standout has kept in close contact with Irish linebackers coach Max Bullough and defensive coordinator Al Golden.

“They're great,” said Davis. “Great people on and off of football.

“Just continuing to build our relationship and get a better understanding for the school and what they do and getting closer to them.”

The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder has been high on the Irish since they began recruiting him.

“Just the way they develop their players and the legacy that comes with the school, specifically my position,” he said. “They're known for having guys go to The League and other positions as well. It just sets up great opportunities. It is a place I could myself.”

Davis said he will be back in South Bend, but hasn’t yet figured out exactly when.

“I pretty much visited the whole school and we went all around the town and everything, so hopefully a game or maybe another visit and get to know some of the staff better and just get a better view of the facilities and what they're doing on a day-to-day basis,” he said.

He visited Michigan last month.

“It was great,” he said. “It was great. I loved Michigan. It was a great visit.”

And has a couple other places he’d like to see in the future.

“At some point, I'm sure I'll end up visiting Oregon and maybe Wisconsin,” he said.

Davis has a clear idea of what will matter most when it comes time for him to choose a school.

“Just what's going to be the best fit for me development-wise and off the field and on the field.”
