After receiving an offer from Notre Dame in March, Jarius Rodgers‍ made his way to South Bend in April.

The 2026 Florida Vyper target has remained in touch with the Irish since.

“It's going good,” said the 6-foot-5, 190-pounder, who has kept in contact with Notre Dame defensive line coach Al Washington and defensive line assistant Nick Sebastian.

“They've just been checking up on me, seeing how things were going this summer.”

The Fleming Island High School star also has offers from schools like Alabama, Florida State, Nebraska, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt and several others.

The message from the Irish coaches has been a simple one.

“They are probably going to be the ones to work me the hardest to be able to get up to the next level,” Rodgers said of what he’s heard.

“They're really good people. They seem like the type of guys to make you keep working, even if you're tired and they're going to make sure that you're competing.”

Rodgers enjoyed his first visit and is already looking forward to returning.

“We're going to try to make it up there for the Notre Dame-FSU game,” he said. “I feel like it's going to be a really cool experience, especially since it's a night game.”

Rodgers is excited for the opportunity to see what the Irish look like on the field and how they respond to any adversity they may face.

He also visited Alabama, UCF, USF, Vanderbilt and Florida State this spring and has a few other game day visits picked out this fall.

“I'm going to the Florida-Miami game, then Alabama-Georgia game and the Nebraska-Illinois game,” he said.

He intends to make a final decision sometime toward the end of his junior year.

Rodgers wants to find a place where he can compete, but will be looking at more than football when he’s choosing a school.

“Seeing how the coaches not only see you as a football player, but see you as a man yourself and see what you're going to do when you can't play football anymore.”
