2026 CB Caden Harris Talks Notre Dame, Irish Offer

Caden Harris‍ already had some big-time scholarship offers before he landed one from Notre Dame last week, but the 2026 Tennessee corner was fired up that he did.

Irish head coach Marcus Freeman texted Harris, requesting the Haywood High School star give Notre Dame General Manager Chad Bowden a call.

“I got on the phone with Chad,” Harris explained. “He pretty much introduced himself to me.”

Then, Irish defensive backs coach Mike Mickens jumped on the call as well.

“He pretty much gave me the rundown of Notre Dame and he told me that they watched my film and they liked that I took off all the boxes for them and also that I had the grades,” Harris said of Mickens. “Then, they just let me know that I had the offer from Notre Dame.

“I was very excited. Me and Coach Freeman had talked before then and I was just looking forward to getting a scholarship from Notre Dame because they're a big school and also big in academics.”

The 6-foot, 165-pounder, who also has offers from schools like Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama and LSU among several others, has been impressed with the Notre Dame coaches.

“They're very straightforward guys,” he said. “They know what they want in their players and as far as character development, I think they're some of the best people to be around.

“We're going to stay in contact and talk probably once or twice a week. They want to get me down for a visit soon. I don't know when that's going to take place.”

Even without a date set, Harris does plan to get to South Bend eventually.

“I probably just want to see how the team operates overall and how everything is run along with the facilities and the school; just everything that you would see on social media or TV,” he said.

So far this year, he’s made visits to Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and Louisville.

“All of them were pretty good,” he said. “I got a good glimpse at how a lot of stuff is run and how the programs are there. I'm looking forward to going on the OVs to really get an official view.

“We're pretty much settling down on the visits for this summer, but in the fall, I for sure have to get to some games.”

Harris has a good idea of what he’s looking for in a college.

“Just a school that wants to develop me and help me be the best man I can be. Also, I'm trying to get some playing time pretty early, but just the overall school, if they have pretty straightforward people and people that want to see me win.”
