By the time Notre Dame requested Jordon Gidron’s transcript, the 2026 South Carolina receiver had to like his chances of getting an offer from the Irish.

“Carter Auman was the one who told me to call them,” says Girdon, who is currently sporting a 4.8 GPA.

“I talked to their general manager (Chad Bowden) and I talked to Coach (Mike) Brown and they told me they liked my film. I just had to get my transcript, so I sent them my transcript.”

It was no surprise that he heard back sooner after.

“Then they called me back a little while later and they offered me,” the 6-foot-2, 185-pounder says. “I was definitely excited, just grateful for every offer, so just excited and that's basically what I told Coach Brown.

“It's a team that's always been good. When I was growing up, they were always in the Top 10 or close to getting in the Playoffs. To get an offer from a team that's good means a lot.”

Gidron adds Notre Dame to an offer sheet that also includes schools like South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Duke, Florida, Florida State, Miami, LSU, Oklahoma and Stanford among several others.

The Irish saw many of the same things the other schools did.

“The speed and explosiveness, just getting the ball, breaking tackles,” says Gidron, who has been clocked at 4.55 in the 40-yard dash. “They said I'm a physical receiver.”

The Ridge View High School standout enjoyed his initial feel for the Irish staff.

“Coach Brown was talking about just building a relationship and getting me up there and just making big plays,” says Gidron. “It was definitely a good first impression.”

He says he’s going to try to get to South Bend for a game this fall.

“The schedule's pretty tight right now, but we're going to see if there's any space to get to Notre Dame,” he says.

“I’d like to see the facility, the area that it's in, see what kind of offense they run if we go to a game and see how the receivers do.”

He already has visits to Georgia, NC State and Auburn set for the fall.

He’s already made trips to Auburn, NC State, South Carolina, Ole Miss and Florida State and all have his interest early.

He’s looking for a program that will help make him the best player he can be.

“Just the best chance for me to get to the next level and a place that feels at home with the best genuine relationships. A place where I can develop.”
