2027 QB Peter Bourque One For Notre Dame Fans To Watch

Peter Bourque‍ has already attracted big-time offers from some major college football programs, but his head coach believes it’s just the start.

“I think he's anywhere from top five to top 10 QB in the country,” Tabor Academy head coach Jeff Moore says of the 2027 Massachusetts quarterback. “I think he's got the ability to play anywhere. It'll be interesting to see where he goes.

“He's got some big schools already, like Penn State and Kentucky, and then he's got another handful of big schools where I wouldn't be surprised if something happened after his first three or four games.”

In addition to Penn State and Kentucky, the 6-foot-4, 185-pound Bourque also has offers from Maryland, Syracuse, Toledo and Rhode Island.

“I think he's got elite level arm talent from arm strength and accuracy,” Moore continues. “He's also extremely athletic. Every camp he went to this summer, he ran in the low 4.7s from 4.70, 4.71 and 4.75. He's also an elite level lacrosse player. Because of that, it really helps that he's got great body fluidity. He throws off platform and things like that with rather ease, I think compared to a typical quarterback.

“I think for him, it's really his arm talent, his athleticism, and then also his body fluidity. I think those three things are sort of what sets him apart from a lot of the other QBs.”

One of those camps Bourque attended this summer was at Notre Dame.

“He really enjoyed it there,” says Moore. “He really liked the coaching staff, thought the campus was amazing as well. He's so young. It's not like he has this top list or Top Five or anything like that. I think it's a school that's of very high interest for him.”

Bourque, who transferred to Tabor Academy from Catholic Memorial this offseason, also checks the boxes off the field, according to Moore.

“Real smart kid, works really hard,” the coach says. “He's got a great frame. He's going to grow into his body. He's not weak, he's just young. We're looking forward to getting him here for a full 12 months in our strength and conditioning program and everything to get him to that next stop.

“He's a great kid. He's really, really well-liked by his peers, pretty easygoing. We're really excited for him in our program and I think he'll fit in with ease. He's a really nice kid. His dad played football at Dartmouth, was a tight end there.”

Tabor plays the majority of its games on Saturday afternoons, but has a couple Friday night games and will be done before Thanksgiving, so there is some room for Bourque to make college visits this fall.

“That leaves like two to three weeks at the end of our season where he can go visit some places too,” Moore says. “I know he'll be taking advantage of that.

“My guess is he'll definitely go up to Penn State for a game and some stuff, but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets to two or three games this year. That wouldn't be surprising at all.”
