2026 OL Benjamin Eziuka Set For Another Notre Dame Return
Benjamin Eziuka has already been to Notre Dame multiple times and the 2026 Michigan offensive lineman will be back next week for the Irish’s home opener.
“I believe this will be my fifth time down there,” the 6-foot-3, 315-pounder says.
“I'm just trying to get back, see the atmosphere one more time, make sure it's a place that I want to keep my interest in and just get to be around (offensive line coach Joe) Rudolph again and just be around the place, soak in the atmosphere and make sure it's somewhere I want to seriously consider heading into my decision.”
The Catholic Central standout currently has offers from schools like Penn State, Kentucky, Western Michigan, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Toledo and Akron among others.
He camped in South Bend over the summer and had the chance to speak with Rudolph afterward.
“Coach Rudolph said he was impressed with my feet,” Eziuka says. “He said I improved a lot from my sophomore year and he was impressed with my coachability. He talked after with me and he said I really impressed him there and I really improved my standing with them from my performance at the camp.”
Rudolph told Eziuka he wanted him back for a game this fall and Notre Dame Assistant General Manager Carter Auman extended the invite last week.
“It's a school I've always really liked; seeing the game day last year, and seeing the atmosphere, the coaches like Coach Rudolph, Coach (Rob) Delaney, and just the history they have of producing great offensive linemen,” the Detroit prospect said.
Rudolph has explained that he’ll be keeping an eye on Eziuka this season.
“He wants to see my junior film,” Ezuika says of Rudolph. “Then, hopefully next offseason, possibly earn an offer. He just wants to see my film from this year just to prove everything that he saw at the camp to be true.”
Even with some other major offers, a scholarship from the Irish would be huge for Eziuka.
“That would mean the world,” he says. “Anytime anyone's asked me what school I want to go to, Notre Dame's always been at the top of that list, so it'd really just be a dream come true.”
Before heading to South Bend next week, Eziuka will be at Michigan State this Friday. He’s also expecting to make stops at Tennessee, Penn State, Kentucky and maybe Kansas this season.
He isn’t in a rush to make a final decision or even narrow his list just yet.
“I'll probably wait until at least next spring.”
