2026 CB Khary Adams Excited For Notre Dame Return
Khary Adams' previous trip to South Bend was certainly a memorable one as Notre Dame offered the 2026 Maryland cornerback a scholarship after his performance at one of its camps.
“I was excited,” the 6-foot-2, 180-pounder says. “I liked it. They showed me the facilities. It's a good school. I liked it.
“It's a great program, great facilities and a place where you can get a good education.”
The Loyola Blakefield standout also enjoyed the opportunity to work on the field with Irish defensive backs coach Mike Mickens.
“I like his drills and he tells me stuff that translates to a real game,” Adams says.
Adams will be back in South Bend this weekend for the Irish’s home opener against Northern Illinois.
“I always wanted to go up there for a game,” he says. “I just needed the opportunity up there.
”I just want to see the culture of a game atmosphere.”
Since the camp, he’s kept in touch with Mickens and Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman.
“They've been telling me how good of a program it is and it's somewhere I could fit,” says Adams.
“I love them. They're great people, great coaches.”
Adams’ offer sheet also includes schools like Maryland, Penn State, Pitt, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Boston College and Syracuse among others.
College coaches like his physical style of play and his speed.
He has a few other visits in mind this fall.
“I should be going to UNC, Penn State,” he says. “I'm going to the Whiteout Game at Penn State and Syracuse.
“I think I'm going to add maybe one or two more.”
Adams has plenty of time to make a decision and doesn’t expect to do so until around this time next year. But he has already started thinking about what he’ll be looking for in a school when he’s making that choice.
“Somewhere I could get a good education to set up for life and somewhere that's going to hopefully help me get to the next level.”
