2025 WR Target Jace Brown Talks Notre Dame Offer, UCLA & More
Jace Brown was honored to receive an offer from Notre Dame last month.
“It meant a lot,” the 2025 California receiver told Irish Sports Daily recently. “ It really opened my eyes to the bigger opportunities that I'm being exposed to, so it really helped me.”
Brown has been committed to UCLA since the Fourth of July, but Notre Dame has certainly grabbed his attention.
“Just the name itself,” the Warren High School standout said. “It's just a really big name school and it's a prestigious school.”
He speaks regularly with Irish head coach Marcus Freeman, receivers coach Mike Brown and General Manager Chad Bowden.
“They just show me a whole lot of love and keep telling me how great the program is and how bad they want to see me up there,” Brown said.
“Those are great people. Coach Freeman is a great person, very knowledgeable. Chad, he's a very nice guy. He's always uplifting me with his words and Coach Brown him too. He's always lifting me up with his words, so those are great guys.”
With the Irish in need of receivers, Brown is one they want badly and they’ve communicated that to him.
“It feels great to know that they know my worth and it feels great to know that I'm worth something,” he said.
Still, he remains committed to the Bruins as of now.
“It just was so close to home and it hits all the marks as far as academics and football,” he said.” It's just home. You can't beat home.”
Well, the Irish are certainly trying and are hoping to get the 6-foot-4, 200-pounder to South Bend for an official visit soon, although that’s something Brown still isn’t completely sure will happen.
If he does take an official to Notre Dame, he’ll be looking to get a better feel for the program.
“Just their program and how their program works within the players and just see the culture; the culture of the city and the football program,” he said.
At the moment, Notre Dame looks like the only real threat to UCLA.
