2026 CB Khary Adams Recaps Notre Dame Return
Khary Adams was looking forward to getting back to South Bend for Saturday’s game against Northern Illinois and though the outcome ruined the day for many Notre Dame fans, the 2026 Maryland cornerback still had a positive trip.
“It was good,” the Baltimore native told Irish Sports Daily afterward.
“I got to see the facilities and the game. That's really it.”
Adams camped at Notre Dame over the summer, so he’d already seen most of the facilities, but appreciated the chance to experience gameday in South Bend.
“They had a great atmosphere and great fans,” the 6-foot-2, 180-pounder said.
Adams landed an offer from the Irish following his camp performance in June. He also has offers from schools like Maryland, Penn State, Pitt, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Boston College and Syracuse among others.
Prior to the game, he caught up with some Notre Dame staffers.
“I talked to Coach (Mike) Mickens and Coach (Marcus) Freeman,” he said. “They were just saying they were happy to see me back at Notre Dame.
“They're good people. I've got a good relationship with them.”
But, like virtually everybody, the Irish’s 16-14 loss to Northern Illinois was not what he expected.
“I thought Notre Dame was going to blow them out,” he said.
It doesn’t change much for Adams though.
“I've still got the same feeling for Notre Dame,” he said. “I still think it's a great program. The loss doesn't really change anything.”
He isn’t sure what’s next for him and the Irish and although he has no visits locked in to go anywhere else at this point, he does expect to return to South Bend at some point.
“I should be back up there in the future.”
