New 2025 DE Target Tim Griffin Talks Notre Dame Offer
Recruiting has taken a sudden turn for Tim Griffin over the past couple weeks.
The 2025 Georgia defensive end had offers from Alabama A&M, Georgia State, Western Kentucky and UMass.
And then on Sept. 8th, Alabama offered. Two weeks later Notre Dame, Florida and Cincinnati offered.
All of a sudden, the Alcovy High School standout will be picking through some of the top programs in the sport.
“The Alabama offer really put my name on the map,” the 6-foot-5.5, 250-pounder told Irish Sports Daily this week. “I feel like it brought a lot of attention to me. It's great attention because it opened up so many doors for me. So I do thank them for that.
“Now, I'm just going to sit back, really check out every program and not only just about the football aspect because I'm a great student-athlete as well. I've just got to see what program fits me, not only as an athlete but as a person because college can change your life for the good.”
He landed the offer from the Irish last Friday during a call with defensive line coach Al Washington.
“A great guy,” Griffin said of Washington. “We just had a great connection from the start.”
And Griffin is already set to take an official visit to Notre Dame for the Stanford game on Oct. 12th.
“I know it's a good program,” he said. “I feel like they’re building something special over there, so I can't wait to go check it out.”
Griffin is fresh off an unofficial visit to Cincinnati after unofficials to Florida and Alabama before that.
“It was great,” he said of the trip to Cincinnati. “I had an amazing time. I actually set my official visit while I was there. I can't wait to get back.”
He’s set to return to all three for official visits, but the Irish will get their crack in a couple weeks.
