It’s getting to be crunch time in the recruitment of Tre Singleton‍.

The 2025 Indiana power forward is hoping to have a decision soon, but has a couple visits planned beforehand, including an official to Notre Dame this weekend.

“Obviously it's a really good school academically and then it's a good distance, great coaches. I've got a lot of faith in their coaching staff, so it kind of led to me wanting to go up there,” the 6-foot-8, 215-pounder told Irish Sports Daily.

The Jeffersonville High School standout pointed to Micah Shrewsberry and an interesting connection to the Irish head coach as a main source of his interest in the Irish.

“I hear about him every day because he and my high school coach grew up in the same area, so they're good friends,” Singleton explained. “He makes sure I hear something about him every day about why he likes them.

“He told me about how he's had some NBA guys because he's just a mastermind coaching. He was just kind of bragging about that, about how good he is.”

He’ll be looking to see how he’d fit in South Bend on and off the court.

“How are the classes?” he said. “Will I be able to be OK there? Another thing is how I would fit in the system and what their vision is for me.”

Schools are looking at him as a versatile four who can help in a variety of ways. College coaches have told him they like how hard he plays.

“A lot of them have told me I'm a blue-collared player because I play hard and try to outwork everybody and probably my versatility,” he said. “I can just do a little bit of everything, so I'm a match-up nightmare.”

Singleton has taken recent visits to Northwestern, Louisville and Purdue and has one planned for Clemson next week before a decision, which he says will “probably here in the next few weeks.”

He knows what he’s looking for.

“Somewhere I can go and just get the same feel I get while I'm at my current home. Somewhere that really feels like home, somewhere I can develop and hopefully get an opportunity to play at the pro level.”
