BREAKING | 2025 Big Man Tommy Ahneman Commits To Notre Dame

During his official visit to Notre Dame this weekend, Tommy Ahneman‍ decided he’d seen enough.

On Monday, the 2025 Minnesota center announced his commitment to the Irish, choosing Notre Dame over offers from schools like Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Penn State and Northwestern among several others.

The 6-foot-10, 235-pounder from Cretin Derham-Hall caps an amazing recruiting week for the Irish.

Last Monday, Notre Dame landed a commitment from four-star small forward Brady Koehler before five-star combo guard Jalen Haralson announced his pledge on Wednesday and four-star wing Ryder Frost on Friday.

Ahneman’s announcement likely finishes the 2025 class for the Irish, although you can never really rule anything out.

Scouts love Ahneman’s size along with his skill as a big guy. He’s considered one of the best low post scorers in the country.

Ahenman transferred to Cretin-Derham over the summer. Prior to that, he was at Sheyenne High School in West Fargo, North Dakota, where he led his team to a Class 2A state title and was named Gatorade Player of the Year.

He averaged 20.3 points, 13.3 rebounds, 2.2 blocks and 1.9 assists as a junior and registered Ahneman recorded 28 points, 17 rebounds and two blocks in the championship game.

Ahneman took official visits to Winsconsin and Nebraska prior to this weekend’s trip to South Bend. He had officials scheduled to Minnesota and Iowa in the coming weeks, but closed down the process while on campus this weekend before today’s public announcement.
