BREAKING | 2025 WR Antavious Richardson Commits to Notre Dame
Notre Dame needed speed at receiver in 2025 and they’ve added a key piece as 2025 Greenville (Ga.) receiver Antavious Richardson has committed to the Fighting Irish.
The three-star prospect had been committed to South Florida since June, but following an official visit for the Miami (OH) game, Notre Dame had been trending for the 6-foot-2, 170-pounder.
Richardson's time with head coach Marcus Freeman was a turning point in his recruitment as he saw a man who would make him a better football player, but also develop him off the field.
“It was great talking to him, hearing how bad he wants me,” said Richardson. “He was basically telling me why there was no better place than Notre Dame to go to.
“It feels great to see somebody have such passion for you and not just in football, he wants you to succeed in life outside of football. It felt great.”
General Manager Chad Bowden made a key visit to see Richardson last month before his official visit.
Notre Dame’s pitch around its world-class degree also hit home for the Georgia native while in South Bend.
“Their degree is a high degree,” Richardson said. “If you say ‘Notre Dame,’ it'll take you a long way. That's why I like about Notre Dame outside of life, it'll prepare you for the better if football doesn't work out.”
It’s a big win for the Irish as Richardson was starting to blow up as Alabama offered recently and he was set to visit Tuscaloosa and North Carolina later this fall.
