2025 WR Target Jalen Cooper Previews Notre Dame Official
Notre Dame has had Jalen Cooper’s attention for a while now.
“Just the name speaks for itself,” the 2025 Texas receiver says of Notre Dame. “Great atmosphere, great culture with football, a lot of success and just a great atmosphere to play in.”
This weekend, Cooper will head to South Bend on an official visit to see it for himself.
“A lot of people talk about the atmosphere they have, the great school programs they have,” Cooper continues. “I'm just ready to see it in person and see all they've been talking about.”
Cooper has been committed to SMU since the summer, but Notre Dame has been in serious pursuit since the end of summer with head coach Marcus Freeman, receivers coach Mike Brown and general manager Chad Bowden leading the charge.
“Right now, they're mainly just really excited because the days are getting shorter to me getting up there,” says Cooper. “They're just really excited to meet me in person and show me what they're about.”
The Steele High School standout been impressed with the Irish coaches over the past couple months.
“They're good people,” he says. “They always check up on me to see how I'm doing. They stay involved in what I've got going on. They're just well-rounded people.”
Of course, Cooper remains committed to the Mustangs following a recent trip back to Dallas.
“They're a winning program,” he says. “They switched conferences. The coaching staff's great. I feel they're a well-rounded team and they've got all the sources from me.”
Cooper doesn’t intend to let the process play out much longer and expects to have a final decision shortly after his trip to South Bend.
“After the visit, like a week after, I'll probably let everyone know my full decision.”
