BREAKING | 2025 OL Cameron Herron Flips To Notre Dame

Cameron Herron‍ did everything in his power over and over to impress Notre Dame.

Even when it seemed there probably wouldn’t be any room for the 2025 Indiana offensive lineman, he impressed the Irish. And, even after committing to Iowa back in June, he continued to do so.

Prior to that, Herron showed his interest in Notre Dame with multiple visits to South Bend over the winter even when he wasn’t as high on the board as others.

But the Warren Central standout continued to climb his way up that board.

Over the weekend, he took an official visit to South Bend and has now announced he’s flipped his commitment from the Hawkeyes to the Irish.

“It's just a big school, a big-name school,” Herron told ISD previously. “It's definitely a high-academic school, which is great. The alumni are gigantic everywhere. They're known for producing offensive linemen, like Quenton Nelson, and all those other offensive linemen in The League.

“I love the coaches. Definitely love the head coach, love the o-line coach. When I went there, it was all just warm.”

The 6-foot-3, 275-pounder gives the Irish 22 verbal commitments in the Class of 2025 and joins Owen Strebig, Matty Augustine and Will Black to give Notre Dame a quartet of offensive linemen.

Even when Notre Dame seemed content with bringing in the three offensive linemen it already had pledged, Herron showed up at Irish Invasion in June and dominated. When an offer didn’t come then, he committed to Iowa.

But he continued to impress the Irish on film this season, which led to this weekend’s official and ultimately the flip.

Herron’s coach at Warren Central, Mike Kirschner, has long felt he’d be a great fit for Notre Dame and previously said whether an offer from the Irish came or not, Herron would be a “really good” D-I player somewhere.

“He's a straight-A student,” Kirschner said. “His brother's in Aerospace Engineering at Purdue. Family's great people.

“He's an interior kid. He's a guard or a center. Big, strong athletic kid. Honestly, could probably be a really good d-tackle.”
