2027 QB Jackson Smith Returns To Notre Dame...Again

There is no mistaking Jackson Smith’s interest in Notre Dame.

After traveling South Bend last weekend, the 2027 Ohio quarterback guessed he’d been there 10 times between gameday visits and camps.

“Maybe even more than 10,” he added. “It's just the environment and the experience. Nothing anywhere else compares to Notre Dame. I've been to a lot of schools and that experience alone is something that no other school has. It's just a family feel.”

And his return for the Irish’s win over Stanford was no different.

“It was awesome,” Smith said. “Just the experience. They've been winning and then talking to Chad Bowden was good. He was just talking about my season. He said, 'You've got to get season so far. Just keep working, keep grinding.'”

Smith’s early impressions of Bowden are positive.

“I think he's awesome,” the Lakota West product said.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder has early offers from Kentucky, Marshall and Miami-Ohio.

“I've been in contact with a lot of schools; a lot of the MAC schools I've talked to; Toledo, Ohio, Northwestern, and then obviously Notre Dame,” he said.

He’s planning trips to Miami-Ohio and possibly Louisville this season. That will probably be it for this fall, but he fully expects to be back in South Bend again.

“For sure, maybe for a spring practice,” he said. “That will probably be the first place I go to just because it's one of my priorities.

“Hopefully, eventually, down the road I get an offer and I'd like to go to the school. It's my dream school.”
