Then why even write this column? 

My hope is to offer some insight into the processes that led to these picks, which could help you find profitable picks of your own. 

Positive EV Betting is a strategy that involves calculating the Fair Odds for any given game or prop and then finding prices that are more advantageous than those Fair Odds. 

Each week, I’ll share some of the +EV plays that I’m on and then add some basic insight that should be helpful to sports bettors.

Last week, we talked about the importance of playing the boosts and endorsed the content on X of @TheeDegenBoosts. There are plenty of other content providers on the platform who provide profitable ways to use the bonuses if you can act quick enough, including @nolivergambles.

But in teach-a-man-to-fish fashion, you’ll get way more than plays if you pay attention. You’ll be able to learn profitable techniques to find your own plays.

Here’s one.

What kind of bets do you see sportsbooks promoting more than anything these days? The Same Game Parlay.

There’s a reason for that. We’ll detail exactly why at a later date, but it’s not difficult to surmise that SGPs are among the most profitable plays FOR THE SPORTSBOOKS!

For every bettor you see who turned $5 into $150,000 in a few hours, you can bet there were tens of thousands of other bettors who lost.

The margins on SGPs are so favorable to the sportsbooks that they’re virtually impossible for a player to beat in the long run.

But, there is one upside to that for us. The sportsbooks need to promote SGPs and there is no better way for them to do so than to provide SGP boosts. These can be very difficult to calculate, but fun to search for “dummy legs.”

Sportsbook won’t give you the boost unless you satisify the requirement of multiple legs, usually 3 or 4. But if you can find legs so correlated that one leg hitting virtually ensures another leg will hit, you can typically find profitable plays.

Here’s an example via @nolivergambles.

This play on DraftKings requires the player to bet 3 legs in order to boost the profit by 25%. By playing Texas and Under 57.5, we’ve already bet that Georgia will not score more than 28 points.

The Under 3.5 Georgia TD leg isn’t a total dummy leg, but it’s close enough that there is a very good chance this bet will be decided on whether Texas wins and the game stays Under. 

And in this instance, we’re getting +268 odds on that Texas/Under parlay. Take a look at the price of that same parlay elsewhere and you’ll see we’re getting some great value with DraftKings here.
