Top 2025 LB Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng Previews Notre Dame Return
Notre Dame has had Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng’s attention throughout the recruiting process and the Irish will have his undivided attention this weekend as well when the elite 2025 IMG linebacker returns to South Bend for another visit.
“I'm just looking forward to getting back and seeing Al Golden, seeing Marcus Freeman,” Owusu-Boateng told Irish Sports Daily this week.
“Just seeing the whole coaching staff again and making a deeper relationship with them over there.”
Even with dozens of scholarship offers from the nation’s biggest programs, Notre Dame is one school that has always been near the top of his list.
“Just understanding the opportunity,” Owusu-Boateng said. “You've got three coaches who are going to coach you up on a daily basis. Al Golden as defensive coordinator, Coach (Max) Bullough as linebacker coach and Coach Freeman. Just having everybody who can help develop your game and everything.”
Of course, his older brother and former Irish star linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah has also helped keep Notre Dame in focus.
“He's my brother and of course he's telling me about his experience and how Notre Dame had been a good experience for him,” Owusu-Boateng said. “I would say that he's just informing me about all the great things that Notre Dame can offer me, honestly.”
After attending Junior Day at the start of the year and taking an official visit this summer, this will be his last trip to South Bend before he makes his decision.
“It's just about going back there this week and seeing if they can answer any off-the-field questions that I have for myself like life outside of football and how that is,” he said. “Of course, the depth chart to see if any guys are leaving, any guys who are coming back and then how my role will fit playing as a linebacker at Notre Dame.”
Owusu-Boateng took an official to Colorado earlier this month and was at Michigan last weekend.
“It was a real good visit,” he said. “It was probably my best visit to Michigan so far.”
He’ll take an official to Texas in two weeks and could have a decision a few days later. If not, look for him to pick between the Irish, the Wolverines, the Longhorns and the Buffaloes sometime during December’s Early Signing Period.
