“You can only play the cards you’re dealt” can take on different meanings. In the case of Notre Dame’s 2024 season, it has everything to do with their schedule.
Florida State was supposed to be someone they are not. Miami was supposed to travel to South Bend to play the Irish. Those two things didn’t happen and it means Notre Dame has had an easier schedule than expected and also less chances to impress the College Football Playoff committee.
