S Commit JaDon Blair Ready To Sign, Report To Notre Dame

JaDon Blair‍ is ready for Wednesday.

“I'm super excited for it,” the 2025 Irish safety commit said of National Signing Day.

“Ever since I picked Notre Dame, I felt like it was the place for me and I'm really excited to sign officially on Wednesday to get everything started.”

Blair committed to Notre Dame in July and picked up his offer from the Irish in April…of 2023. Still, the fact that the moment is finally almost here is tough for him to comprehend.

“It is kind of surreal, but at the same time, it's what I expected,” he said. “When God put it in my life, He blessed me with the opportunity to go to the next level. For me to make the best decision that I can, of course guided by Him and my parents, but just getting to make that next step and getting to actually be there, I'm super excited and just ready for it overall.”

Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman and defensive backs coach Mike Mickens have Blair as excited about his future as ever.

“The more I talk to Coach Mickens and Coach Freeman, the more excited I get,” he said. “The way they want to use me in the system, calling me the missing piece still to this day. They're still saying I'm the missing piece to this defense to make this a national championship team, if not this year, because they're doing phenomenal right now. 

“They just keep in my ear how much they need me and can't wait to develop me and use me in the scheme that they're using right now.”

Blair won’t have to wait too much longer to get to South Bend as he’ll enroll in December and participate in practice leading up to the College Football Playoffs.

“I'll be there early, early,” he said. “I think I can get adjusted to the speed of the game a little bit off the rip, get to learn how fast they're playing and just a little bit of the calls that I could pick up on here and there.”

And he’s excited about the group that will be joining him, especially his fellow defensive backs.

“I feel like personally we have the best class from skill position to big people; just the people who we have committed already who are going to sign on Wednesday, like Dallas (Golden) and Mark (Zackery), Ethan (Long), we got guys all around. If you turn on tape, tape don't lie. 

“From what you see, all of us, we're special at what we do and it's going to show once we get to Notre Dame.”
