2026 WR Naeem Burroughs Talks Top 6, Notre Dame
Naeem Burroughs landed dozens of scholarship offers and he certainly will have more coming his way as well, but the 2026 Florida receiver has decided he wants to narrow his focus.
Last week, Burroughs announced a Top 6 of Notre Dame, Florida, Florida State, Clemson, Wisconsin and Texas.
“Just the schools I see myself at,” Burroughs said of the group. “Just schools that me and my family had talked about and wanted to focus on just building open relationships with each and every school and to see the schools in my future.”
He’s visited each of his finalists except Notre Dame and Texas.
Still, receivers coach Mike Brown and head coach Marcus Freeman have kept the Irish toward the top for The Bolles School star.
“Just the relationships,” Burroughs said of why Notre Dame remains on his list. “Coach Freeman and Coach Brown wanted me, them just showing love each and every time they text. That means a lot to me. I'm hoping I can get up there sometime in the spring just to see how I like the campus to get a feel for everything going on up there.
“They're just telling me I'm really big and how much they want me and just how high I am on the board, and just how I fit into the offense.”
Burroughs has also been impressed with what he’s seen from the program.
“I just know they've been dominating for years and they're going to continue to dominate with great coaching, great players,” he said.
The 6-foot, 175-pounder said the Irish appearance in the College Football Playoff helps their standing with him.
“It definitely does,” he said. “It definitely does. It just shows that they are a high-caliber team, of course, and they are willing to compete with the best. That just shows a lot.”
Burroughs doesn’t have any visit plans “at the moment.”
“But I should be planning something soon,” he said.
Burroughs goes into each visit with a plan of what he wants to learn about during each trip.
“Offensive scheme, energy coming from coaches, energy on campus, stuff like that,” he said.
He doesn’t have a timeline for when he’ll further narrow his list or make a final decision.
“Not right now. I haven't thought about it yet. I'll have to talk with my family first.”
