The recruiting process has been in full gear for Jordan Thomas‍ for over a year now, but with most of the Class of 2025 prospects having signed now, the 2026 New Jersey cornerback knows it’s going to kick into a new level soon.

“It feels great,” the Bergen Catholic star says. “I'm very excited to continue this recruiting stage in the offseason and just narrow down my schools.”

Thomas has dozens of offers from schools like Notre Dame, Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, USC, Oregon, Stanford and Duke among several others.

Notre Dame is one school the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder has been seriously interested in from the start.

He’s kept in consistent contact with the Irish.

“Of course,” Thomas says. “I've been talking to Coach (Marcus) Freeman. I've been talking to Coach Al Golden and that's mostly who I've been talking to daily, but I've also been in touch with Coach (Mike) Mickens as well.”

Having conversations with the head coach and defensive coordinator lets Thomas know exactly what the Irish think of him.

“It tells me that they view me as a top priority and they would love for me to be a part of their program,” he says. “It's just a great thing to have a relationship with these coaches.

“They think that my personality and just me as a student and on the football field, it all just fits into what they're building at Notre Dame and just the culture at Notre Dame as well.”

Thomas didn’t make it out to South Bend for a game this fall, but he’s camped at Notre Dame before and is planning on returning at some point.

“We're still working on that, but hopefully in the future,” he says. “I would love to see a game, but unfortunately I'm not sure if recruits could get down during the playoff game.

“I would love to just meet the coaches in person again and reunite with Coach Al Golden, Coach Freeman and talk about how they would see me fitting in the defensive scheme.”

He doesn’t have any visits in mind just yet, actually.

“I'm still deciding that. I don't have a specific school that I want to get down to right this moment. I've still got to talk to my parents about that.”
