BREAKING | Sugar Bowl Postponed

Following a tragic attack on Bourbon Street early on New Year’s Day, the Allstate Sugar Bowl between Notre Dame and Georgia has been postponed..

Originally scheduled to be played Wednesday at 8:45 pm EST/7:45 pm CST, the game will now be played Thursday afternoon.

The 7th-seeded Irish are set to play the 2nd-seeded Bulldogs with the winner set to play 6th-seeded Penn State in the College Football Playoff Semifinals at the Orange Bowl on Jan. 9th.

Initial reports on Wednesday morning were that the game at the Caesars Superdome would go on as scheduled, but uncertainty was creeping in by Wednesday afternoon.

Per the New York Times, “A 42-year-old Texas man with the flag of the Islamic State on his pickup rammed the vehicle into celebrating crowds on Bourbon Street in the early hours of New Year’s Day, officials said. The attack killed at least 10 people and injured about 35 others.”
