BREAKING | Former Louisville DL Jared Dawson Headed to Notre Dame
Notre Dame’s latest Transfer Portal addition is a familiar name as defensive lineman Jared Dawson has committed to Marcus Freeman and the Fighting Irish.
Dawson comes to South Bend after spending his first five seasons in Louisville, where he recorded 51 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, nine sacks and forced one fumble.
As a senior in 2024, the 6-foot-2, 305-pounder made 19 stops, 6.5 tackles for loss, including four sacks. Against Notre Dame in September, Dawson made four tackles and finished with a PPF grade of 83.0 for the game.
Dawson also finished with an impressive 82.5 PFF grade in run defense, which is what Notre Dame is looking for as Howard Cross III and Rylie Mills are off to the NFL.
The Tennessee native was also extremely productive as a high school player at Collierville as he finished his prep career with 152 tackles and 18 sacks. Dawson also finished 50-3 on the wrestling mat as a junior in high school.
