All-American CB Benjamin Morrison Declares for NFL Draft
Notre Dame All-American Benjamin Morrison has declared for the 2025 NFL Draft.
It’s a move that was expected and is the most beneficial to Morrison’s career as he’ll not only have the best resources available to him to recover from a hip injury that ended his junior campaign in September, but he’ll have the time to invest in his recovery.
The Arizona native ends his Notre Dame career playing in just 31 games, but he’ll go down as one of the top cornerbacks to play for the Fighting Irish.
As a freshman, Morrison played in all 13 games and made nine starts on his way to being named a freshman All-American. In 2022, the 6-foot, 190-pounder made 33 tackles, four pass breakups and six interceptions, including three against Boston College.
Over his final two seasons at Notre Dame, Morrison totaled 51 tackles, 10 pass breakups and three more interceptions while also being named a team captain in 2024.
Morrison didn’t bail on the program despite sitting out with injury as he was FaceTiming Christian Gray and Leonard Moore while in the hospital recovering from surgery in addition to being a presence at games and practice.
“I talk to Ben about a lot of things,” Gray said. “He’s the leader. He’s the guy, so I try to talk to him about a lot of things. I learn a lot from him. He just gives me wisdom. Straight wisdom. I’m blessed that he’s my teammate.”
When it comes to his future, ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper released a mock draft on Wednesday that projected Morrison to end up being selected at No. 24 overall by the Minnesota Vikings. The Lions drafted Alabama cornerback Terrion Arnold at 24 in 2024. Arnold earned $2,607,947 on his contract with a signing bonus of $7,251,788 and is projected to earn $14,343,709 over his first four seasons.
