2026 TE Evan Jacobson Talks Notre Dame Offer

Mike Denbrock dropped by Waukee High School in Iowa on Tuesday to check out Evan Jacobson‍ and the Notre Dame offensive coordinator didn’t leave before offering the 2026 tight end a scholarship.

“I had a great conversation with him and he definitely got me excited about the Irish,” the 6-foot-7, 220-pound Jacobson told Irish Sports Daily.

“It’s obviously a program that just played in the national championship, which is somewhere I want to be, right on that level playing right there. Then, I think about how he saw me fitting in and what he liked about my game; my versatility, how I can be a Notre Dame tight end and do it all.”

Jacobson also has offers from schools like Iowa State, Penn State, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Texas A&M, LSU, Arkansas, Miami, Florida State, Colorado and Stanford among others.

Denbrock made a strong impression.

“I think he's a great dude,” Jacobson said. “He's super easy to talk to and clearly wanted to get to know me and cared about me, wanted to get me on campus. I really liked him.”

The next step would be getting Jacobson to South Bend for a visit.

“I'm looking at getting there in for a spring ball practice and getting on campus then and just getting to sit down to talk with the whole staff and talk some ball,” he said.

“Seeing the practice, seeing how Coach Denbrock coaches and stuff like that and seeing what every day looks like as a Notre Dame tight end and getting to know those guys.”

Jacobson visited Auburn and Missouri the past two weekends, but doesn’t have anything else locked in at the moment.

“I don't have my spring schedule set for sure, but I'll be taking spring ball visits probably to the schools that I'm more serious with,” he said.

Jacobson isn’t in a huge rush to make a commitment.

“I'll probably take my official visits and then make my decision after that,” he said. “I'm kind of narrowing my list right now, probably after this month when it all kind of shuts down and coaches can't come through and visit anymore for a little bit, I'll talk things over with my family and begin to narrow my list from there.”

He’s thinking of taking those officials in June and making his commitment later in the summer.

“I want to win. I want to be somewhere that's competing for a national championship and playing on that level. That's something that's huge to me. Then, somewhere I have a great relationship with the coaching staff and somewhere I'll be developed as a player and a person on and off the field.”
