Thoughts on New Notre Dame DC Chris Ash

I was planning on saving my thoughts on Chris Ash for Thursday, but since things went into motion before then, there’s no need to wait.

Marcus Freeman had an easy decision if he wanted it. He could have promoted Mike Mickens to take over as defensive coordinator after Al Golden left for the Cincinnati Bengals. Just like he has preached repeatedly about players going to Notre Dame, Freeman made the hard choice to pass over his friend for the position and go with Ash.
