Notre Dame Offer Catches 2026 WR Jayden Petit's Attention
Jayden Petit was in the middle of a workout last month before the 2026 Florida receiver was told he was being offered a scholarship by Notre Dame.
“They pulled me out of lifting because we had lifting in the morning,” Petit explained. “They just pulled me out lifting. We started talking with the coaches, me and my coach, and then really we were just learning more about Notre Dame.”
The 6-foot-4, 202-pounder was already impressed with what he knew about the Irish.
“How they do it and how hard they work, really, the amount of effort they put in, everything they do and how hard they work,” he said.
That’s why the First Baptist Academy star was so fired up.
“Very excited,” he said. “It was a very exciting offer.
“I think it's very cool. Just having the opportunity to have a team like that in the national championship offering me I think was very cool, a very cool thing.”
Petit’s growing offer sheet also includes schools like Florida, Florida State, Miami, Tennessee, Auburn, Penn State, Wisconsin and UCLA among others.
He’s planning to keep learning more about Notre Dame.
“Just continuing to build that relationship really,” he said of what’s next.
Petit would like to get to South Bend to see it for himself one day.
“Oh yeah, for sure,” he said. “Just to see what the coaching staff is like.”
He made some gameday trips in the fall, but hasn’t really hit the road for recruiting visits yet.
He isn’t sure where he’ll go for visits just yet or when he may make a decision.
But he does know what will matter most when that time comes.
“Relationships.”
