Coming off of a season where his quarterback won the Heisman trophy and his offense was the top ranked in the country, it wouldn’t have seemed like Mike Denbrock would be looking to leave LSU.
The circumstances were right for it to happen, though. It would mean coming back to Notre Dame and working with Marcus Freeman and several other coaches he’d worked with before at Cincinnati. Obviously money played a part in recruiting Denbrock back to South Bend, but it was more than that.
