2027 QB Peter Bourque Has High Interest In Notre Dame
Notre Dame has yet to make a serious move on any quarterbacks in the Class of 2027, but Massachusetts’ Peter Bourque is certainly one the Irish have had their eye on for a while now.
And while the Irish are being patient with the 2027 signal-callers on their board, the Tabor Academy star has already landed several scholarship offers from schools like Penn State, Syracuse, Maryland, Kentucky and Wisconsin among others.
The 6-foot-4, 190-pounder camped in South Bend last summer and left extremely impressed.
“It was awesome,” Bourque says. “The school's amazing and I love the coaching staff there. Coach (Gino) Guigudli is awesome. It was great. It was a great trip.”
Bourque appreciated the chance to see how Guidugli works.
“I just like his coaching style and it seems like everyone in the room loves him, so that's what I look for,” Bourque says of the Irish quarterbacks coach.
He also got a full tour of campus while in town.
“It was awesome,” he says. “It was my first time seeing it. I was amazed. It's beautiful.”
Even as the Irish have been patient with him and his fellow sophomore signal-callers, Bourque has seen enough to have Notre Dame up there.
“Definitely,” he says. “They’re with the schools at the top of the list
“Just the academics there and they're a Top 5 program in the country every year.”
Bourque says he will “100 percent” be back in South Bend.
After taking in games at Penn State and Michigan last fall - “Big Ten football, two of the biggest stages, it was awesome,” he says - Bourque was back in Happy Valley for the Nittany Lions’ Junior Day last month.
He isn’t in a rush to make a decision, but does have a good idea of what it will be based on.
“I would say my relationship with the coach of course and if it's a place where I really want to stay all four years. I'm not trying to go into the portal four times.”
