No one has found the perfect way to measure the importance of players returning for college football teams.
I recall that Athlon used to list returning lettermen back in the day. Many have listed returning starters for as long as I can remember. It can be broken down into total snaps returning, number of total starts returning, yards, touchdowns, or whatever anyone deems important.
