Davis, who arrived in South Bend with Marcus Freeman and Chad Bowden, has general manager experience. Last winter, Davis left Notre Dame to be Gerad Parker’s GM at Troy before returning to Freeman’s staff in the summer when Dre Brown left the program.
The Ohio native spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons in a recruiting analyst role, but he specific responsibilities within The Gug. Davis had a hand in evaluations and on-campus recruiting, while also helping with Notre Dame’s walk-on program.
With Davis’ departure, Notre Dame will rely heavily on assistant to the general manager, Carter Auman, and director of high school relations, Deland McCullough II. Both will help new Notre Dame general manager Mike Martin get up to speed on recruiting and how the college game works as he transitions to the collegiate level.
