2026 DB Jordan Deck Wants To Visit Notre Dame

Jordan Deck‍ has five official visits locked in, but the 2026 Texas safety is hoping to get one more set.

“I'm definitely trying to get with Notre Dame,” Deck says.

The Lone Star High School safety has locked in official visits to UCLA (May 15th), Michigan (May 30th), Penn State (June 6th), Ole Miss (June 13th) and Baylor (June 20th).

Deck and the Irish still need to get together to set a date - or dates - for him to get up to South Bend, but his interest in Notre Dame is strong and a direct reflection of how he feels about head coach Marcus Freeman and defensive backs coach Mike Mickens.

“I like Coach Freeman,” says Deck. “I like what he's about. I like what he stands for. It seems like he's a really good head coach.

“I like Coach Mickens and what he's doing with the secondary down there. Everybody in the secondary looks coached-up and so it looks like the program is truly about football. These days, it's a whole lot of money and it's a business, but it looks like that program is legit. That's why I wanted to be a part of it, take a visit down there.”

The other schools have his attention as well.

“I like Baylor,” he says. “I've got a strong relationship with Baylor with it being close to the house. I really like the coaching staff up there.

“Ole Miss, one of my big bros, he goes up there; Jaylon Braxton, he goes there. He likes it. I'm linked in with Coach (Wes) Neighbors.

“Penn State, I like Coach (Anthony) Poindexter up there, DJ Bryant. Those are good people. Their program is turning in the right direction as well, just like Notre Dame.

“UCLA, I've been in connection with them for a long time before Gabe Lynn got there from Colorado. Michigan, same thing, another coaching staff that I've been linked in with.”

Deck doesn’t have a firm commitment date set, but expects to do so after he completes his official visits.

“I'm just going with the flow as of right now, but I plan on committing the end of June,” he says.

He knows what he’s looking for.

“A program I can go and play early, or have a shot to play, get on the field, a system I fit in, great coaching staff that I feel I have a connection with,” he says. “And a school that is home, has home vibes.

“If I’ve got a shot to go to The League, if I can get developed, because development is the most important thing, so I just want to go somewhere I feel I can get developed.”
