New Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson has been a hot coaching candidate in the NFL for the past couple of years. He earned a reputation as the offensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions of being innovative and aggressive when it comes to his playcalling, so it’s not a surprise that he is someone who is very open minded when it comes to analytics.
He spoke about passing EPA (expected points added) at the recent NFL owners meeting about how important that metric has become.
