At least two of the schools remaining on Grayson McKeogh’s list have already checked a couple of the 2026 Pennsylvania offensive lineman’s most important boxes.

He’ll be looking to check at least one more as he begins official visits next month.

“I really wanted to see what life is like outside of football for the guys and what they do when they have time off,” McKeogh told Irish Sports Daily. “A lot of this process, I've been paying a lot of attention to the football and academic sides of it.

“I feel like the thing that's going to separate these last couple of schools that I have left are just what the guys are like and how they hang out together and the bond that they have.”

As of now, McKeogh has two official visits locked in; one to Penn State the weekend of June 6th and one to Notre Dame a week later.

An in-home visit with Irish offensive line coach Joe Rudolph at the beginning of the Evaluation Period helped solidify Notre Dame on McKeogh’s short list.

“We had a really good time,” McKeough said. “He is a really personable, honest guy and straightforward, but he also knows how to have a good time. He's fun to be around. I just had a really good time.”

The Nittany Lions have always been high on his list.

“Obviously playing in PA and growing up as a Penn State fan, you've got that and you've got what Coach (James) Franklin's doing and Coach Trout (Penn State offensive line coach Phil Trautwein),” he said. “All their other coaching staff, they're good people. I've been able to form relationships with them over the time and as well as Notre Dame.

“They've both just got a lot going for them.”

McKeogh isn’t quite down to a final two just yet, though.

“I'm looking to schedule two or three official visits and right now obviously it's only those two,” he said.

He isn’t ready to talk about any of the schools remaining in the running for that potential third visit.

“Nothing right now, no,” he said. “Like I did with Penn State and Notre Dame, I'm taking this last month to take one last look at everything and see, 'Are these the only schools I want to official to?' Just one more broad look at everything and make sure I'm making the right decision.”

He isn’t sure if a potential third visit would be before Penn State or after Notre Dame yet, but expects to make a final decision a week or so after he completes his official visit schedule, whenever that is.

At least for now.

“That's the goal. But obviously that's subject to change.”
