2026 LB Commit Thomas Davis Jr. "Locked In" With Notre Dame
It doesn’t sound like an offer from his father’s alma mater has done much to impact Thomas Davis Jr.’s recruitment.
Davis committed to Notre Dame way back in November, but that was before Georgia, the school his father starred at in the early-2000s offered. Last week, that changed when the Bulldogs did extend an offer to the legacy prospect.
“I'm still locked in with Notre Dame,” the 2026 North Carolina linebacker told Irish Sports Daily this week.
Davis Jr., is set to be in South Bend the weekend of June 13th for his official visit.
“I think it's going to be awesome,” the Weddington High School standout said. “With all the guys up there, it should be great.”
Spending time with his fellow commits will be important, but so will others seeing their bond, according to Davis Jr.
“Just the team chemistry off the field,” he said. “Having other recruits there who are uncommitted being able to see that could definitely be a big influence.”
Davis Jr. will be surrounded by several uncommitted prospects that weekend, including fellow top defensive targets Khary Adams and Nick Reddish, but he has a long list of his own targets.
“A lot of them,” he said when asked who he will be going after. “There are multiple guys, pretty much all of them.”
His message to the uncommitted recruits will be a relatively simple one.
“This is obviously a place that isn't for everyone,” he said of what he’ll say to the other prospects.
“But y'all are being recognized already as a fit for somewhere that you can be developed to be the best man off the field. If they're going after you, it's saying something, they don't go after everyone.”
Davis Jr.’s goal will be to make sure the uncommitted targets understand the culture in South Bend.
“Just making sure they get a full experience of it and just knowing that there will be a brotherhood there for them when they get there,” he said.
As one of the earliest commits in the class - and the earliest defensive pledge - Davis Jr., believes he has some responsibility to keep it growing.
“Definitely.”
