Teddy Jarrard‍ made his first trip to Notre Dame on Thursday and if all goes as expected, it probably won’t be his last.

The top 2027 Georgia quarterback spent the day in South Bend, visiting with head coach Marcus Freeman, offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock and quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli.

“It went good,” Jarrard told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “Good culture, and it was an enjoyable time.

“We started off just touring around the campus and all that. I got to meet with the weight room staff and sit down with him. He was great. Then we got to meet with Coach Freeman for about an hour. After that, we ate, then we met with Coach Gino as well for a while. We were with him throughout the day.”

The North Cobb High School standout also had a workout and threw for Guidugli in the indoor facility.

“After that, we met with OC for about an hour again and then had a couple more meetings throughout the day with some coaches,” he recounted. “At the end they had the fantasy camp. We went and watched that in the stadium. That was the day pretty much. It was a long day. It was, but it was good. It was good.”

Jarrard enjoyed his chat with Freeman.

“It was good,” he said. “He's a great guy. He's real personable and you can really relate to him and what he's been through. He was great to talk to and a really genuine guy, so that was a good time.”

He also appreciated getting to know Denbrock.

“He's a little bit older, so he knows what he's talking about,” the 6-foot-4, 200-pounder said. “It was fun to get a little bit of wisdom from him being back and forth to Notre Dame multiple times. Also, his experience at other places, that's been good.

“He knows what he is doing as well. He's been through it and he knows the challenges and what it takes to be a quarterback at Notre Dame. It was fun to talk to him.”

Jarrard has offers from schools like Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan, Auburn, Miami, North Carolina, Duke, NC State, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Missouri, Mississippi State and Ohio State among others.

The Irish still haven’t extended any offers to 2027 quarterbacks, but Jarrard has a good sense of where he stands.

“Coach Gino made it clear that I'm one of the top five guys he's looking at right now and that they're going to look to give some offers here in the next coming weeks,” he said. “I think he thinks really highly of me and what I can do.

“It said a lot with the time they spent on me and it was a good visit. I think going forward, Notre Dame is great and I'll be keeping in touch with Coach Gino.”

And Notre Dame stands in a good place with Jarrard as well.

“They're definitely in that top discussion with me,” he said. “I've got a couple more visits in the summer and I'll go see some more places, but as of right now, Notre Dame is right up there. I love what they're doing and I love what Coach Freeman's got going on as well as Coach Gino.”

Jarrard will be at Purdue on Friday before visits to Penn State, LSU, Ohio State, Michigan, Mississippi State, and Arkansas.

He can see himself returning to South Bend in the future.

“Possibly for a game day or something if it comes that way. That'd be great. I had a great time up there and hopefully it comes to that where I'll be back for a game day.”
