A little over a month after his first trip to Notre Dame, Quentin Burrell‍ returned on Friday for Irish Invasion.

The top 2027 Illinois receiver target enjoyed his time at the camp and the Grill & Chill afterward.

“It was really good,” the Chicago native told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “I liked it a lot. I had fun today.

“I got to see how the coaches coach and got to compete with people in my class and younger too.”

Seeing the coaches get to work in person was one of the things Burrell wanted to see most.

“I would describe their style more hands-on, more technical, really detailed,” the Mount Carmel standout said. “Usually at camps, you don't see coaches really get into it and engage. But Notre Dame engages with their players a lot.

“That's really good that they do that. They showed a lot of interest in it. They didn't just want to have people out to be there. They wanted to connect with their players that came out.”

Burrell picked up an offer from Notre Dame on Pot of Gold Day. He also has offers from schools like Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Indiana, Wisconsin, Auburn, Ole Miss, Arizona State and Washington among several others.

He was happy with his performance during the camp session.

“I think I did pretty good,” Burrell said. “I think I put my skillset out and showed the coaches what I could do.

“Definitely room for improvement though. You can always get better, but I feel like I put a really good foot forward today.”

The feedback from the staff was positive.

“They just told me to keep doing what I was doing and to get better every day and stay consistent,” he said.

He also enjoyed the BBQ afterward.

“It was fun, a little bit competitive too,” he said. “Bonded with some of the fellow high school recruits there. I got to say what's up to some of the coaches and just ultimately have fun.”

That relationship should continue to grow when college coaches are able to reach out to 2027 prospects directly beginning in a week. And, he’s hoping to return to South Bend in the fall.

“Honestly, I'd like to do a gameday visit to see how the atmosphere is,” he said.

But first up, he has some other visits this month.

“I'm going to camp at Ohio State and then Penn State and Arizona State,” he said.

The Irish seem to be in a good position with Burrell early.

“The relationship is building very good. They're showing a lot of interest. I would just say it's going pretty good. The relationship's going pretty good and just trying to keep building that.”
