2026 PG Jonathan Sanderson Commits to Notre Dame

Notre Dame basketball has landed its first 2026 commitment and it’s hardly a shocking one.

2026 La Lumiere (Ind.) point guard Jonathan Sanderson‍ has given his pledge to the Fighting Irish just under a month after Notre Dame announced the hiring of his father, Jon, as the strength and conditioning coach for the men’s basketball program.

La Lu is Sanderson's third high school, as he started his prep career at Saline High School (Mich.) before playing last year at Ensworth High School (Tenn.)

Sanderson averaged 24.0 ppg, 6.2 rpg and 3.3 apg last year for Ensworth on his way to being named Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year.

It’s also worth noting that the elder Sanderson is the legal guardian of 2026 La Lu big man Gan-Erdene Solongo‍, who is also a target for Notre Dame.
