2027 TE Korz Loken Talks Notre Dame Offer
Korz Loken made the trip out to Notre Dame to compete at a camp on Monday and before he left South Bend, the 2027 Wisconsin tight end was offered by the Irish.
“It was actually really cool,” the 6-foot-5, 220-pounder told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “I got to talk with Coach Freeman and he let me know that they were going to offer me.
“It's just a really cool program, really great coaches, really great culture, so I was really pumped about the offer.”
Loken has more than a dozen offers to date from programs like Wisconsin, Indiana, Kansas, Illinois, Florida State and Auburn among others.
He was glad to make the trip out to South Bend to see the Irish.
“They invited me to a camp and knowing how much they use their tight ends and how great their program has gotten over these past couple years, I really wanted to get out and be able to work with them and be on campus,” he explained.
The Iola-Scandinavia High School standout appreciated the opportunity to connect with Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman, offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock and assistant tight ends coach Harris Bivin.
“It was nice,” Loken said. “I got to meet Coach Denbrock and Coach Freeman and really get to know who's running the show and how they like to do their business. It was great to be able to work with them and have them help me improve my game.
“When I did get to work with Coach Denbrock and Coach Bivin, I got to learn a lot both about what I should be doing differently and how they teach and coach themselves. So it was nice. I got to learn a lot more about footwork, about my breaks, about blocking, and also kind of just get to know the coaches as we were doing it.”
Loken was pleased with his performance.
“I thought my routes were pretty good,” he said. “I didn't drop a ton of balls. I was really just working on being as fluid as I can and using my leverage and my size to my advantage.
He’ll be at Ohio State on Tuesday and then next week, he’ll hit Alabama and Florida.
But he’s also already looking into getting back to South Bend.
“I'll definitely try to get back on campus for a visit,” he said. “I'm not quite sure when yet, but I'm definitely going to try to schedule that as soon as I can.”
Loken has a good idea of what he’s looking for in a school.
“I definitely want to go somewhere where I'm needed and I can make a large impact on the team and really go out there and just make plays and help my team win.”
